YOUTH LEAGUE PLAYS FINAL GAMES OF SEASON.
Our flag football and volleyball leagues played their last games of the season on Saturday, November 14. Although it was a short season, we couldn’t have been happier with the level of participation and commitment from the players, parents, coaches and all the other league partners who made it possible.
After each final game on Saturday, the players were awarded with medals. It was such a privilege to see their excitement and pride as the teams gathered for group pictures. The parents couldn’t seem to take enough pictures of their teams! One of the mothers used a megaphone as she enthusiastically cheered on her son’s flag football team. Another family brought a handmade sign to encourage their flag football players. This is the kind of support we saw throughout the season.
As always, the coaches made a special effort to thank their teams for playing hard. We heard many inspiring post-game speeches reminding the students to remember the lessons they learned throughout the season. In addition to awarding medals, some of the coaches provided their players with other unique reminders about their experiences in the league. One volleyball coach handed out flowers to her players. Another coach made special cards for her players. These were thoughtful gestures that reminded us about the relationships that have been formed during the course of this league.
Volleyball and flag football are over for now, but basketball is next. We can’t wait to see many of these faces again very soon!
